Statement of Faith
1 The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and free from error in the original manuscripts when all grammatical, historical, literary, and cultural issues are considered. The Bible is the only God-given authority mankind possesses; therefore, all doctrine, faith, hope, and instruction for the Church must be based upon and harmonize with Scripture.
2 God
Monotheism – God is absolutely one: a single, indivisible divine Being, uniquely and numerically one.
3 Jesus Christ
We believe the one God of the Old Testament, whose name is Yahweh, became a man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is both fully God and fully man, the visible image of the invisible God. His deity is none other than that of the Father, and as to His humanity, He was born of a virgin.
4 The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God Himself in action, working in the life of believers in adoption, sanctification, empowerment, and transformation.
5 Salvation
We believe salvation is based solely on the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and is the undeserved gift of God. This response to the gospel is expressed in Acts 2:38: repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the receiving of the Holy Spirit.
6 The Second Coming
We believe in the return of Jesus Christ—His glorious appearing—when the dead in Christ and those who remain will rise to meet Him and be with Him forever (1 Corinthians 15:51–55; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18).
7 Final Judgment
We believe there is coming a time when all who have lived will stand before Jesus Christ for judgment. Those not saved will be cast into the lake of fire. This judgment is literal and eternal.
